A wonderful combination of painting tuition and Thai culture in a small guest house on the banks of the Mekong River at Phon Phisai in NE Thailand.  During the dry cool months of October to January each year the guesthouse provides a combination of painting tuition and Thai rural culture experience to 4 guests each week.

Thailand Painting Holidays provides trips to many unusual and beautiful destinations in the NE of Thailand. There are no tour buses with a guide. Locations are difficult to access, with few tourists, so your hosts Jeremy and Waree will personally show you around during your holiday.

Phu Phra Bat Historical Park

Less than 2 hours drive from Phon Phisa, carved by glaciers over a million years ago, this park area is a fantastic way to spend a day. You will see these neat rock formations carved out by glaciers, man made structures and other oddities. Phu Phra Bat is one of the most extraordinary sites in Thailand. Filled with a large number of Ancient buildings and objects dating back more than 3,000 years. As one of only 10 Historical parks in all of Thailand this pre-historic area is located within a thriving forest in which you will find rocks of peculiar shapes as a result of glacial movement millions of years ago. In addition to the beautiful landscape, caves and caverns you will find evidence of historical cultures found in a number of caves where there are wall paintings of humans and animals.

Butta Bat Boa Bok - this is one of two locations in which you will be able to see the stone carving of one of Buddha's footprints. It is a highly recognized sacred location and mainly used for ceremonial occasions.
