Thailand Painting Holidays

paint on the banks of the Mekong River

A wonderful combination of painting tuition and Thai culture in a small guest house on the banks of the Mekong River at Phon Phisai in NE Thailand.  During the dry cool months of October to January each year the guesthouse provides a combination of painting tuition and Thai rural culture experience to 4 guests each week.

The visits are individually tailored to provide the level of tuition and Thai experience that each visitor seeks.  This website contains details of the tuition, experiences and facilities together with prices and booking facilities.

Lawrence's painting holiday review

“A wondeful experience that I was compeled to repeat..”

Reviewed 9 April 2015

I have now spent two weeks at the delightful spacious House right on the banks of the mighty Mekong River looking across to Laos on the far bank.

My first week was enjoyed December 2013 and my second during December 2014. I fully intend to return this coming November/December, so it's clear that my hosts have ''got it right''.

I painted in a very relaxed ambience at my own time and pace and Jeremy encouraged me to attempt different styles and media that I have been accustomed to, and whilst this took me a little out of my comfort zone, I relished the challenges and those who have seem the results have commented in a most positive manner on my works.

Not only is the accommodation perfect, but the fresh Thai Food provided by Waree was simply delicious... yummee - I can't wait to enjoy it again.

During my visits, I have been taken by my hosts on a few tours round the neighbourhood, to a rubber plantation, to the nearby riverside town of Nong Kai with it most interesting marketplace, and to an interesting theme park which I really enjoyed. Next time I may cross the river into Laos for a day’s outing.

I recommend a holiday with Waree and Jeremy and their lovely young family for an idyllic retreat coupled with the opportunity to hone, improve and broaden your painting skills, or just to relax, unwind and enjoy your time.
