Thailand Painting Holidays

paint on the banks of the Mekong River

A wonderful combination of painting tuition and Thai culture in a small guest house on the banks of the Mekong River at Phon Phisai in NE Thailand.  During the dry cool months of October to January each year the guesthouse provides a combination of painting tuition and Thai rural culture experience to 4 guests each week.

The visits are individually tailored to provide the level of tuition and Thai experience that each visitor seeks.  This website contains details of the tuition, experiences and facilities together with prices and booking facilities.

A great variety of seafood (or river food) is available in Isaan.  There are local prawn farms and small scale fish farms, fish from the Mekong and from the sea in the south.  The village shops have live catfish for sale and the restaurants along the Mekong have large Talapia barbequed fish with salted skins.

You can try live prawns or little crabs if you wish, I have :)   I love the crispy fried fish that you eat whole eyes and all.  If you like seafood I am sure you will enjoy it during your painting and photography holiday with us.

I have included photos of tortoises under seafood as I don't know where else to put them.  I have not eaten them so far.

The plastic bag at the bottom right contains live prawns, which you eat....alive
